How do I find the library service I’m looking for?

You can find a library or information service in a number of ways -by browsing through the A to Z Browse lists for libraries and networks, by searching by library name or postcode in the centre search box, or by using the keyword search for any information (e.g. library name, town, county, specialisms) in the main site search on the right of the screen.

How do I find a library contact?

You can find colleagues and key library contacts within the directory by browsing the A to Z Contacts list, or by searching for first name/surname in the centre search box and selecting the ‘contact’ option or by using the keyword search for any information (e.g. library name, town, county, specialisms) in the main site search on the right of the screen.

I can’t find the library I’m looking for through any of the search methods?

If new entries are required email us at contactus.hlisd@gmail.com and these will added to the database.

A service I have looked at is out of date.

Email us at contactus.hlisd@gmail.com and we will deal with your enquiry to update this entry.

How do I make suggestions for improvements to the site?

Email us at contactus.hlisd@gmail.com to send your suggestion. All suggestions and comments for enhancements and development of the HLISD site will be logged and discussed by the HLISD Service Board with regards to future development.

The home page is not a live link on my entry. Why not?

This will probably be because the editor has omitted to add the full URL using http:// If you know who the editor is, please contact him or her. If not, please email us at contactus.hlisd@gmail.com. .

I'm an editor for HLISD but I've forgotten how to log in. What is the log in address?

The log in address is http://www.hlisd.org/login.aspx. Then you need your user name and password. Once you are logged in you will find notes and faqs for editors in the right hand panel.

How often should I update the entry?

The aim is to have entries updated at least annually, ideally six-monthly and, of course, any time anything important changes. If there are no changes to make, the entry should still be put through the approval process so that the date last updated guides users as to the accuracy of the information..
